Dyer at 4 months!

First off Dyer had a dr. appointment and he was 14 lbs 7 oz and 25 in. We went to a different doctor for this appointment since we couldn't get in with our normal doctor. This doctor was a little concerned about Dyer's head size. The tech measured him to be in the 98% but then the doctor remeasured and measured him to be in the 95%. I guess they have to be worried if a baby is above 97%. I tried telling him that all my kids have big heads and that it is a Kelsey trait but the doctor told me to keep an eye out to make sure that Dyer is reaching all his milestones on time. I wonder if they are concerned because I'm pretty sure that he came out with an average sized head (thank goodness since I had to do it all natural!!!) and now he is in the 90 something percentile. I'm guessing they aren't overly concerned since they don't want to see him until he is 6 months old.

Dyer is now sleeping in his own room. I don't know why but for some reason I was kind of having a hard time moving him to his own room. I know he was probably ready about a month ago but I just kept putting it off. I guess I didn't want to admit to myself that my baby is getting older. Dyer is doing just fine in his crib. He puts himself to sleep and only wakes up once (if that) and I just put his pacifier in and he goes right back to sleep. He will usually wake up between 6-6:30 to eat but then will go back to sleep for another 1-1 1/2 hours.

Dyer has found his feet/toes but for some reason he will only play with them if they are uncovered. It is almost like they don't exist if they are covered and he can't see them.

(I had to get a picture of Dyer in this cute hat because I'm a little worried that it won't be fitting him much longer-when he will actually need it).

Dyer will grab onto anything that you put in front of him and suck on it. He loves his hand, burp cloths, blankets, and the stuffed animal mini blankets. Recently he will grab onto Blair's hair when she comes to talk/play/give loves to Dyer and she will tell him off. I try to tell her that he doesn't understand what he is doing but she doesn't get it. The last two days he has gotten a nice hold on the cat's fur too! The cat doesn't seem to like it much either. Maybe this will keep the cat at a distance now.

Dyer seems as though he wants to get up and start moving. He doesn't seem to like to stay in one place for very long. If he is on his back he will dig his heels into the ground and push up while arching his back which will either move him back and/or around in a slow circle. If he is on his tummy he will dig his toes into the ground and lift his butt up into the air. He is also rolling over from his tummy to his back.

Dyer is a lot more vocal now and is getting pretty loud. Every once in a while he will still do his cute, soft little cooing sounds but often these days he is just really loud. It is still cute don't get me wrong but I just love his soft serious conversations he has. He is also squealing which is probably why it is getting so loud!

Dyer likes to smile that is until the camera comes out and then it is almost impossible to get a smile out of him. Dyer seems to really love his brother. Almost every time he sees Easton he gets a huge smile on his face. Dyer is laughing/giggling more these days but I'm still waiting for that belly laugh. I can't wait!

Dyer loves to be around people. He can't stand being alone and gets upset if he can't see anyone. As long as he can see someone he is generally fine.

Feeding Dyer has become more of a challenge now that he gets easily distracted (mainly from Blair and Easton). It definitely takes a lot longer now. We just started feeding him rice cereal a couple days ago. He seems to tolerate it for the first little bit but then after that not so much.

First time eating rice cereal!
