We went to the local aquatic park. They had a fun play area for kids but unfortunately neither of my kids really enjoyed it. It was really cold and Easton and Blair don't really like to be splashed all that much. They had this funnel above the stairs and as soon as it filled up with water it would dump all the water down on the stairs. I didn't realize it was there until it was too late and it got both Easton and Blair right in the face. This was right when we got there so I think they were both too afraid to go near it. I took Easton down the kid water slide which I thought was fun but Easton wasn't at all interested in it. Like I said it was really cold. Easton did however enjoy the big pool and spent most of the time in that. It was nice and warm. Blair spent most of her time walking around and climbing in and out of a chair.

We went to Sacramento and hit up the Zoo and Fairy Tale Town. These two places are right across the street from each other.

Zoo:
The zoo was fun and nice but it was definitely very small. I was a little disappointed by how small it was but on the up side all the animals were up close and pretty easy to see (I know some people have issues with this-that the animals don't have room to roam, it's not like their natural habitat, etc. but I think of all the times that I've been to the zoo, I've only seen one animal ever use the majority of their space. Most of the time they are sleeping or walking their same small route over and over again). We got there almost when the zoo opened so most of the animals were awake.

Easton and me.
Easton wanted the top hole so I took the bottom one. Its a little messed up but funny!

The boys watching the kangaroos.

The giraffes were really close. We got to see a baby giraffe but it was pretty tall so it didn't look much like a baby. We also got to see a tiger cub (only 3 weeks old) but it was sleeping.

This picture cracks me up because these two would not stop fighting almost the whole week. It kind of reminds me of Jac and I growing up.

Aiden and Blair watching the otters.
I thought this picture was really cute. It is kind of hard to see but Aiden came up to Blair and put his arm around her. She didn't like it much but it was still cute.

I think my favorite was the otters. We got to the otters right when they were about to get fed so we got to watch them do some tricks.

Kadyn really wanted to ride the train so I took him and Easton on it.

Fairy Tale Town:
I thought this was a fun place and I think all the kids enjoyed it (that is until it got really HOT!). Basically it is a bunch of play areas built to look like scenes from fairy tales. Poor Aaron was sick the whole day so he pretty much just stayed in the stroller the whole time. He was a trooper though.

We thought it would be fun to get all us girls.

Blair loved going down her size slide. Should would have stayed there all day if I let her.

It got really hot and since we found a sprinkler watering the grass, we decided to cool off a bit by running through it.

We took the kids to see the free movie at regal in the morning. We saw Wallis and Grommet. Blair was tired so I tried to put her to sleep but with everything going on she was having a hard time falling asleep. Since I had already seen the movie I decided to take her out of the theater and let her practice her walking. It was a day or two before this that she was brave enough to let go and walk by herself. She loves it and there is no stopping her now! My mom thought it was the cutest little thing. Anyways I let her walk around the theater and her record there was 45 steps in a row! I knew she could do it if she would just let go and do it. Later that night I finally brought the camera out and got her on film. Enjoy!

I couldn't help but put this video of Aiden up. He is such a funny kid and I can't help but laugh at him.

Later that night we took the kids to the park (pee park) to play.

We went to the Jelly Belly Factory and took the tour. I think we all had fun but we were all pretty disappointed that we didn't get to see very many workers in action.
The whole gang (minus me).

Jac and I with our boys.

Easton with his cute Jelly Belly hat.

I of course had to document this. My mom actually wearing a hat. My mom doesn't like anything touching her do! They said that everyone had to wear a hat if they wanted to take the tour.

Later that night we danced and sang karaoke. We definitely had fun making fun of each other. Let's just say that we are beginners and we definitely need more practice.

The four of us dancing.

Notice my mom is left handed and kept doing everything with the wrong hand.

Singing

I'm probably going to get into trouble for posting these but I couldn't resist...These are for you Wade! I bet you are going to disown us after you see these.

We took a few of the kids to storytime in the morning. A couple of the kids were sick or taking a nap so they didn't join us. Jana and Aiden got kicked out of storytime because Aiden was walking around and I guess being too loud? I really didn't think he was much of a distraction but I swear "Dan the library man" doesn't like it when kids that are younger than 3 are in his story time. Jana took Aiden to the other story time 18 months to 3 yrs but I guess he kept throwing the shakers there so Jana left that storytime and just took him to the main part of the library. Apparently Aiden started screaming and one of the librarians came up to Jana and told her that if she couldn't keep her child under control then she would have to leave. Jana just took Aiden outside. In a sense I guess Jana got kicked out of the entire library. I couldn't help but laugh but I guess Jana didn't find it very funny and now hates my library. After lunch Gma volunteered to watch all the kids so us sisters could go shopping at the outlet stores. Jacqui was the only one who brought her camera so these are repeats off of her blog.

Of course we had to take some silly pictures.

Jac was right. I was trying to ride a horse but instead it does look like I'm smelling my armpit.

Jana riding a boat. She had a hard time getting into it and an even harder time trying to get out of it.

Later that night we got Nathan to play the wii with us. We tried to get him to do just dance but of course he turned that down.

Monday 7/12/2010

We took the kids to get their pictures taken the day after everyone got here. We figured the earlier the better so that they really didn't know each other and would hopefully get along. It was really hard to get all the kids to sit still long enough to get their picture. I swear they were put in 5 different poses before we finally got one picture. Blair fell asleep on the car ride over so she wasn't very happy when she got woken up. She cried the whole time so I finally caved and gave her her pacifier so that she would at least be content. Thanks to Gma all the kids had matching outfits.
Easton 3, Ashlyn 2, Aaron 4, Blair 1, Aiden 1, and Kadyn 3 (missing Kannon 1, Caleb 10, and MJ 16). We sure missed you guys!

My mom wanted a picture of her with the grand kids but we only got one and it was horrible. The ones with her and the boys and her with the girls turned out way better so we went with those instead.
Gma with the boys

Gma with the girls

We decided to get a whole group picture in hopes that the kids would stay still long enough. They stayed still but we weren't really able to get a picture with everyone looking.

Whole group.
I tried to take Blair's pacifier right before the picture was taken so that we would have one of her without it and not crying. I succeeded in doing that but unfortunately she was also trying to find her pacifier when the picture was taken. I think Aaron was too interested in what I was doing instead of the camera.

Blair and Ashlyn
Thanks to the photographer we were finally able to get a picture of Blair without her pacifier, not crying, and actually looking at the camera.

Of course we had to get a sister picture.

After pictures we went home and the kids played in the pool and had a water fight with the squirt guns Gma got all of them.
