Church, Picnic, and Volcano

I made matching ties for Easton and Dyer and I also made some booties for Dyer to wear to match his tie. I was trying to get a picture of just Dyer at first but Blair wouldn't have it. She wanted in on the picture too!

And because Blair wanted in on the picture Easton wanted in as well. Dyer kept trying to look down over the couch so I thought it would be safer to put them all on the floor.

I told them to get in nice and tight and pretend they loved each other. This is what I got! Easton and his poses just cracks me up! I think he secretly thinks he's a model.

I felt a little bad for Dyer so I made Easton and Blair give him his space.

After a while the kids decided they needed a picture with Daddy too! I guess I'm not important enough because I wasn't invited. Oh well I would have been the odd ball out anyways because I was the only one who didn't wear blue that day.

Easton wanted to go to the park and have a picnic this particular day but unfortunately it was really windy and a little cold so I convinced him to have a picnic on the kitchen floor.

Blair and Easton

Cute little Blair. Before I forget I've been meaning to write this down about Blair. The last month or so Blair has gotten My Little Pony fruit snacks as one of her many options for going potty. At first She was mainly getting these particular fruit snacks because they were the ones on sale but to be honest now she gets them because I love what she calls them. She refers to them as "Pony Pony poot nacks". I'm chuckling as I write it! I just love it!

Another funny thing is Blair has been asking a million questions recently (okay that's not funny and actually it is starting to become really annoying...("who is him? What's this? What's that? etc., etc., etc.,) Well, the other day she was pointing to her nipples and asking what they were. I told her they were boobies so now she walks around pointing to them and calling them her bum bums!

I can't believe this little guy will be in kindergarten this fall. I register him this week! It is crazy how fast they grow up.

Last week while I was at mutual Nathan and the kids were watching Disney music videos. After a while Nathan put on Michael Jackson Thriller. Well, Nathan forgot how scary that music video is and how Michael turns into a werewolf. I swear it has seriously scared Easton for life. He was freaking out when I got home because he was worried that I was out after dark and that a werewolf was going to get me. Every night since then once it starts getting dark he wants to know where daddy is and when he is getting home. He goes into a panic mode and wants me to call Nathan and have him come home. Hopefully over time it will go away. I know Nathan feels horrible.

So DAD if you are reading this you might not want to bring out your scary werewolf mask the next time we see you because it will most likely frighten my kids to death.

Also just recently Easton's newest thing to say is "ay, ay, ay!"

One with me and the kids (minus Dyer who was sleeping).

Dyer finally woke up and decided to join the party!

The kids and I have been doing some fun science experiments. The Volcano erupting was definitely a big hit!

Easton and Blair with the Volcano we made out of sand. Yes, we are all still in our pjs.

Dyer was there too! He enjoyed trying to put every rock/stick he could find into his mouth before I could take it away. Easton wanted in the picture too!

Yes, you guessed it Blair needed in on the action too!

Valentines Day, Potty Training and Stitches

I am getting behind on my blogging so unfortunately I'm combining posts. Like I said earlier Nathan and Easton were sick on Valentines day so it was a pretty laid back day but it was nice to have Handsome home. He even fixed my vacuum so it is working like it's new again!

Easton and Blair got their gifts of bubbles and candy (of course). Everyone had a blast with the bubbles. Easton and Blair enjoyed blowing them and Dyer and Dexter loved going after and popping the bubbles. It was definitely a win/win for everyone!

Easton blowing bubbles. Notice he is in his pjs because he's sick.

Blair blowing bubbles.

Dyer checking out the bubbles.

Video of Dyer and Dexter going after the bubbles. Of course the video is way too dark...still need to figure out if/how to fix that.

Blair finally pooped in the toilet so she go her pretty, pretty princess game! Too bad she really hasn't done it since...I'm wondering if she is holding out in hopes that she will get something just as good as her game...I hate potty training!!! Actually it hasn't been too bad but I still hate potty training.

Daddy being a good sport and playing princesses with Blair.

Nathan got stitches (I think last Friday 17th?) He had fun coming up with stories of how he had to get stitches. I think his favorite was: he came home with a dozen roses for Valentines Day and I punched him in the face and said, "I'm a TWO DOZEN kind of girl!"

Seriously though he got hit in the face playing basketball. Not as fun of a story. I should have punched him on the other side of his face (to even it out of course) when he got home from work that same day because he didn't bother telling me he got stitches until I saw the stitches when he got home. Come on who does that? I've already given him crap about it. He claims he didn't want to worry me...Slightly sweet but if there is a next time Handsome, please inform me sooner. Thanks!

We celebrated Valentine's day late but it was well worth it. I got cake ball truffles, two dozen roses (and no it wasn't because I said, "I'm a two dozen kind of girl!")I think I actually said, "Wow, that's a lot of roses!" Anyways, we went to the temple and then ate out at Cheesecake Factory! My favorite! Thanks Handsome! Happy 7 1/2 anniversary as well (yep valentine's day is our 1/2 anniversary)! I love you!

Sick

Can I just say how much I hate being sick and watching my family be sick. It is honestly one of the worst things ever! It definitely makes you thankful for your health.

Blair threw up once on the 8th (Wednesday). I thought it was a little strange but didn't think much of it. About 1am I woke up with a stomach ache. I laid in bed for a while trying to get back to sleep but couldn't. I decided to take some pepto bismol to hopefully calm my tummy. Unfortunately that didn't work and started puking my guts out about every 15-20 minutes for 2+ hours straight. It was horrible. Luckily Nathan gave me a blessing and I only threw up once more Thursday morning and then it was finally over. I was exhausted all day Thursday and slept as much as I could. I only got out of bed to get the kids something to eat and that took all the energy I had to do that. The TV was a great babysitter that day for Easton and Blair : ) Luckily for me Dyer took two really long naps that day and was willing to play on my bed next to me. Unfortunately for Dyer he was the next one to get sick...

Dyer woke up around 11pm Friday night thrashing about. Nathan and I ran to his room just as he started screaming. We went in and he had puke covering his face, pjs, and bedding. I'm guessing he threw up and couldn't breath and that was why he was thrashing about. It was so sad to see Dyer puking. He was so tired and would almost be asleep but then get woken up because he had to puke. He slept in our room that night in his pack n play but I didn't get much sleep that night because I was so worried that he would suffocate on his puke. Nathan gave Dyer a blessing too and Dyer was back to his normal self in the morning.

We went to church on Sunday and Nathan went to take Blair to the restroom right before the 3rd hour. After taking her to the bathroom Blair didn't want to go back to Nursery she just wanted to stay with Nathan. That should have been a sign that Blair wasn't feeling very well because she loves nursery but I know I wouldn't have thought anything of it since she already threw up on Wednesday. Well, sure enough Blair threw up all over her dress and the gym floor. She even got a little on Nathan. Nathan handed Dyer off to someone else and went to clean Blair up while a bunch of guys cleaned up the floor (hopefully none of them got sick). While Nathan was gone apparently Dyer had a blow out and some people were trying to find me but didn't know where to find me. Eventually Nathan came to tell me that he was taking Blair home. He actually had to take everyone home because I had a meeting after church. Poor Blair was walking around church in only her underwear and my nursing cap wrapped around her. She threw up on the way home so Nathan had to clean up that big mess as well. Blair definitely got it the worst out of anyone but that might be because she wasn't very good at just taking sips of water/pedialyte. She just kept throwing it up. But then again she was the only one that got a fever too. One of our home teachers came over to help Nathan give Blair a blessing. Ms. Valerie came over to see how Blair was doing and actually ended up getting sick the same day as Nathan and Easton.

Nathan and Easton got sick Monday night/Tuesday Morning (Valentines Day). Although I got Nathan home for Valentines Day it definitely wasn't the way I had hoped. Easton was actually really good at throwing up in the bucket and taking little sips unlike Blair. Nathan and I took turns sleeping on Easton's floor next to him that night so once again I didn't sleep very well that night. Easton was pretty much back to his normal self in the morning.

I am glad that we are all finally back to normal and that no one is sick anymore. I honestly don't know how people that are sick all the time deal with it. It was so exhausting!

Check out Dyer's 8 month post!!!

Dyer at eight months

I'm late as usual with Dyer's monthly post but we were all sick right around the time Dyer turned 8 months.

As you can see from the picture Dyer has his two bottom teeth and just on Saturday (2-18-2012) I noticed he is working on his third tooth (the tooth right next to the middle teeth-right side). I find it kind of weird that he is getting that tooth before his two middle teeth but what can you do? I can tell he is also working on his two front teeth though because his gums are so swollen right there. That probably explains why he keeps getting up at night around 4am.

Dyer loves standing! Not only does he fuss when he is on his tummy but now he seems to fuss when he is sitting too! He wants to either be held or for someone to help him stand up.

He is still not crawling although we are working on it. Nothing seems to motivate him enough to try and grab it. I keep thinking he is really close but then another day goes by and he is still not crawling. I wouldn't be surprised if he skipped crawling all together.

Dyer is definitely my BIG baby! Who knows how accurate my scale is at home but it says that he is 19 lbs! Easton was just over 18 lbs at 1 year and Blair wasn't 18 lbs until she was 13 months! I have started to call him Tank because he is so big and heavy! Besides last week when he fell asleep in the car I can't remember the last time I hauled him in his carseat. He is just way too heavy for me to do that anymore. For the last month he has started wearing 12 month clothes. He only wore a 6-9 month church outfit twice and the second time he wore it, it was definitely too small for him, but I made him wear it anyways. This was back when he had just turned 7 months! Everyone seems to comment on how big he is now. It used to be that he had a huge head but now everyone seems surprised that he is only 8 months!

Dyer likes to eat but really only prefers his fruit. He's not really a fan of veggies (no surprise there) or the meals. The meals kind of surprise me because Easton and Blair really loved the meals (minus the broccoli and cheese meal). We have started to give him some table foods here and there and he seems to like that.

Dyer has started to say "Mama". He only seems to say it when he is waiting to get fed and when he wants to be picked up. So basically when he is upset. It also seems as though he has started to sign "milk" and "all done".

Dyer LOVES bath time! He loves to just sit in there and splash! Here's a little video (just ignore Blair's nakedness):

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away...
(The rest of the song is kind of a downer. Just focus on the chorus!)

To My Valentine-
Happy seventh and a half anniversary!
The best decision I have made was to ask you to marry me, and I am lucky that you said yes.

You are one strong, smart and sexy momma.

I am always amazed by how you keep our little team together and moving in the right direction. I love how you find humor even in the challenging moments with our munchkins. I am surprised weekly by some new crafty talent or skill you have taught yourself. On top of all this, you don't realize what a hottie you are.

And thank you for my three little valentines! They puked on me all week and I still think they are cute.

I love you Brown Eyes!

Baby Shower gift

I bought some patterns on line about a month ago and since one of my friends is having a baby girl at the end of this month (her shower is this Thursday)I decided to try my hand at making a few things for her baby. I'm hoping she doesn't look at my blog but if she does well then I guess she won't be very surprised at her shower.

I already have the material to make Blair a dress and hair bow for this spring/summer. I can't wait!

I also published another post earlier today so check it out!

Fun Things

Yesterday Easton's friend, Ian, came over and while I was eating lunch he came up to talk to me.

Ian: "I'm going to spy on Blair!"
Me: "Okay..."
Ian: "I'm going to pretend that Blair's my girlfriend and I'm going to spy on her!"

Haha! I couldn't help but laugh. Good thing I like Ian and that he is just 4 because it definitely would have been a bit creepy if he and Blair were teenagers. I kept imagining Ian climbing the tree outside Blair's window to spy on her.

I don't generally let my kids slide down the stairs but for some reason this particular day they got away with it and boy did they have fun! I remember doing this same thing as a kid at my friends house with sleeping bags. I almost brought them out to show them how it is truly done but my mom instincts kicked in and I decided it would be best not to...at least for now. Man, it would have been fun! Good thing they did it when they did because the gate is now up at the bottom of the stairs so there will be no sliding for a while.

Sliding down the stairs with pillows

Good thing they put padding at the bottom!

Also yesterday Easton was climbing on Dyer's changing table and I told him to get down because it wasn't safe.

Me: "You're not very light anymore. You're going to tip the table over."

Easton looks a little confused but gets off.

About 20 seconds later he says, "Mommy, am I dark inside?"

Me:"No, why would you think that?"

Easton: "Cause you said I wasn't light anymore."

While the kids were sliding down the stairs Dyer was hanging out in his walker. Poor Dyer! Everything he does these days involves him doing it backwards. He "crawls/scoots" backwards and he "walks" backwards (in his walker). He can't seem to go where he wants to. Anytime he tries, he gets further and further away and he gets so frustrated.

The other day I put Dyer on the living room rug sitting up and left the room for a few minutes. He started getting upset so I went and checked on him. He was about two feet from where I put him stuck against the laundry basket but still sitting up. I'm not sure if he scooted the whole way on his butt or if he got there on his tummy and then sat up but either way it was something new for him. He hasn't done it since so I'm still not sure exactly how he got there.

Notice anything different about Blair in these pictures? Yep, that's right she is wearing big girl underwear and we are potty training. I don't know if it is because she is a little older then the last time we tried or maybe she is just finally ready but it has been SO MUCH EASIER this time! Hallelujah! Her stubbornness was definitely there for the first week, which didn't make it easy (I did say easier earlier not easy) but she has finally stopped fighting me and will go use the potty when I ask her to now. She has gone a couple times by herself but we are still working on that. We are still working on the dreadful #2 as well. Still no successes there. Anyone out there have any good advise on what worked for their kids?

Here's her potty chart from the last 1 1/2 weeks. I'm one happy mommy right now!

Every time Blair goes potty she gets to pick a treat/prize from her treat bowl. Almost every time she will look in the bowl, put her pointer finger to her lip and say ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm until she finds what she wants and pulls it out. It's pretty cute and makes me smile/chuckle every time.
