Camping in the Redwoods

We took off Saturday morning for our family vacation. Nathan wanted to go camping in the woods and I wanted to go to the beach so we compromised. We drove along the coast which made most of us sick at one time or another with all the windy roads but the view was wonderful. Blair actually threw up right before we actually got on the coastal highway so we knew we had to get nausea medicine the first chance we got. The first night we camped in the Redwoods. Before we got to our camping site though we took a little detour so we could drive though a tree.

Driving through the tree

Blair happy to be stopping to get a little break.

Easton wanted in on the picture.

Nathan, Blair and Easton walking through the tree and then stopping to get a picture.

It took a lot longer to get to our campsite then we thought it would (we thought it would be about 8 hours of driving but it turned into almost 10) so we had to quickly put up our tent and make dinner before it got dark. We basically ate dinner in the dark, cleaned up, and went to bed so I really didn't take any pictures.

Blair, Easton and Dyer all ready for bed.

In the morning we got up, ate, took down camp and headed out to our next campsite (at the beach!)

Kids eating breakfast (well apparently Blair's eating crackers).
